Our Worshipful Master, John Whyman and his wife Julie recently presented a cheque for £1000 to Tom Smith, the manager of Caring Hands, John’s nominated charity during his year as Worshipful Master.
The donation was raised by members and guests at Julie’s Ladies Night in February and will be used to help support the homeless members of the local community providing food, hot drinks, showers, laundry facilities as well as comfort and support.
Caring Hands helps both men and women through difficult times, with the long term goal of getting them back into work and homes of their own.
A great evening was had by all after the latest event – “A race night” was held at the Centre on Friday 23rd. Organised by the Loyal and True social committee and hosted by Terry, Sue, and Chelsea Shelton.The evening raised a magnificent £1,274.00 towards the centennial fund.
